Montes del Plata is a 50:50 venture of Stora Enso and Arauco to build and operate a greenfield 1.3 million t/a market pulp mill in Uruguay. ANDRITZ is the main technology supplier – providing the production equipment for the woodyard, fiberline, pulp drying plant, chemical recovery, and a power island.
This industrial complex, which incorporates the most demanding practices in the world in terms of environmental care and safety, includes: state-of-the-art mill that will use the best existing technology for pulp production, biomass-based power generation unit to supply the mill and port terminal for pulp exports and supply entry.
Prohoc’s scope in Montes del Plata project includes project planning and site supervision activities. Our work was performed mainly within Automation, Electrical and Mechanical disciplines.
